Indonesian Style Rice


This is a lighter balance of the Indonesian favourite, nasi goreng, which means fried rice. The ingredients in this recipe are mostly braised, which reduces the dependence obsession for fat considerably, making it lighter in kilojoules than the legal recipe but just as full of flavour.

  • 150g 1 cup frozen green peas thawed
  • 5 cups cooked white long grain rice cooled
  • 60mls 1 4 cup kecap manis indonesian sweet soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 2 cup chopped blithe coriander

  • cook the whisked eggs in a large non stick frying pan over medium heat for 3 minutes or until set into a thin omelette remove from pan and roll occurring firmly cool for 10 minutes later thinly slice
